Students for all majors must meet additional requirements for the University, College and School. Refer to the general requirements for details.

CIS Undergraduate Catalog

Computer Science

A student in the Computer Science Undergraduate program has the choice of following two tracks, two combined BS/MS degrees or a minor.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

• Computer Science Track
  The computer science track should be followed by the student who intends to continue on to graduate study in computer science.
  
  
• Software Design and Development Track
  The software design and development track may be followed by the student who intends to pursue a software engineering career.
  
  
• Combined BS/MS in Computer Science
  The student is able to complete the Bachelor and Master of Science degrees on an accelerated schedule.
  
  
• Combined BS in Computer Science/MS in Engineering Management
  The student is able to complete the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Master of Science in Engineering Management degrees on an accelerated schedule.
  
  

Minor in Computer Science
The minor is for students who are majoring in another degree and wish to gain a better understanding of software delelopment.

Information Technology

A student in the Information Technology Undergraduate program has the choice of following two majors in the BS degree, a BA degree or a combined BS/MS degree.

Bachelor of Science in Information Technology

• Information Technology Major
  The IT major gives the student a broad understanding of information technology concepts. It is designed for the student who wishes to work as a technical support staff or administrator.
  
  
• Software Major
  In addition to the broad understanding of information technology concepts, the student gains a theoretical understanding of computer science.
  
  
• Combined BS in Information Technology/MS in Engineering Management
  The student is able to complete the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Master of Science in Engineering Management degrees on an accelerated schedule.
  
  

Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology

• Second Major in Information Technology
  The BA in IT program is open to the student who is enrolled in and will be completing another Bachelor's degree program or the student who already has a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
