I’ve been to Orlando many, many times, so I’m a bit of a Disney World aficionado. I do remember the first time I visited though, jeez there was so much to do and see. Worst of all I only had a couple of day’s to cram it all in.
So what did I do? Well, I did try and visit too many parks. You see, Disney World itself has four main theme parks, Universal has a couple, Seaworld has one or two and theres a few other minor attractions dotted around. You have to really play up front which of those parks to go to. I mean, I reckon Magic Kingdom takes at least two days to get the full experience.
I also over-purchased on my Disney Tickets. I sort of expected that I could visit loads of parks in a day. You can (in theory) but you’ll need another vacation if you try. My advice is to decide what you want to do in Orlando and stick to that plan. By all means be flexible, but do have some sort of itinerary.

In 2005 Disney World totally revamped its theme park tickets and came up with the notion of the “Magic Your Way” ticket which allowed Disney guests to go and create their own tickets. Guests to Walt Disney World Resort can begin purchasing “Magic Your Way” tickets to the main Disney World theme parks and other attractions that the Disney Corp own. These can be tailored to the individual’s tastes and length of stay to see the mouse.
So where do you start with your WDW Tickets. Well you start with the “Magic Your Way” ticket and have to decide on the number of days you want to visit. This’ll give you a set number of days at the main Disney parks. It’ll also expire 14 days after the first use.
Next, the bolt-ons… Do you want to visit more than one park in any given day? You can’t do this with the “Magic Your Way” ticket, you have to add on the Hopper option. Do you intend on visiting any of the water parks or Disney Quest? If so, consider adding the Waterpark Fun and More option. If you don’t want your ticket to expire, maybe because you think you’ll have some days left over, consider adding the No Expiry option.
If you’re looking for cheap disney tickets, never ever buy from ebay or a ticket broker that isn’t Disney affiliated. I’ve heard of many people turning up to the parks and the tickets being dud.
