Dr. Ana Pasztor is Professor for Computer Science at Florida International University since 1986. She has earned her doctorate in mathematics at Darmstadt University, Germany. Presently, she teaches undergraduate classes in logic and graduate classes in theory of computation, artificial intelligence, and cognitive science. She has numerous refereed publications in a wide range of areas such as abstract algebra, logics of programming, artificial intelligence, requirement engineering, the structure of subjective experience, and cognitive alignment in women in math and science. In October 2000, Peter Lang Publishing published "Acts of Alignment," a book that she co-authored with Judith Slater and that is concerned with women in mathematics and the sciences. Her most recent research concerns constructivism as it relates to consciousness research in cognitive science, as well as the implementation of constructivist principles in the mathematics classroom (see Hale-Haniff, M. and Pasztor, A. (1999), Co-constructing Subjective Experience: A Constructivist Approach. Dialogues in Psychology,16.0).
She is the organizer of this event and can be reached by e-mail.
