Ana Pasztor's early research was in Partial Algebra and Theoretic Foundations of Computation.

In the early 90's, she turned to specification issues in design and AI and to the structure of subjective experience in cognitive science.

Ana Pasztor's most recent research concerns the study of constructivist principles and their applications to cognitive science, in particular to AI, philosophy of science, consciousness studies, and pragmatics; and to women's studies and math education.
