Short Biography:


Dr. Jiacun Wang received a Ph.D. degree in computer and control engineering from Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST) in October 1991. He then joined the School of Information, at NUST as an Assistant Professor. In the end of 1993, he was appointed Associate Professor, and Director of Laboratory of System Engineering at NUST. In July 1997, he joined the School of Computer Science, Florida International University(FIU), as a visiting scholar.

His main research interests include discrete event systems, Petri nets, distributed information systems, knowledge-based software engineering, target tracking and filtering, and digital signal processing. He has published a number of research papers on journals and conferences. He was a member of the Program Committee for the 1994 International Conference on Electronics and Information Technology, Beijing, China, a member of the Program Committee for the 1997 IEEE Conference on System, Man and Cybernatics, Orlando, USA, and a member of the Program Committee for the 1998 IEEE Conference on System, Man and Cybernatics, San Diago, USA.
