The Provost has announced the following change to the Fall Academic Calendar.
There will be six programming assignments, as originally planned.
Instead of having classes end on Thursday, December 8th, classes will
now extend through Saturday, December 17th. Graduation Ceremonies will
be on December 19th and 20th as previously scheduled. The deadline for
faculty to submit grades has been extended to 11:59 p.m. on Thursday,
This modification rescinds both the planned "study days" (December 9
and 10), and the week that was to be devoted only to final examinations
There will be no dedicated exam week this semester, and faculty members
are encouraged to conduct their examinations in the manner generally
utilized during the summer semesters--exams are generally given on the
last day of class (in this case during the week of December 12).
Since the week of December 12 is now an instructional week, no final
examinations should be given during the week of December 5. Faculty
are asked to revise and publish their updated syllabi and inform
their students of these changes at their next class meeting.
