The following describes a very good opportunity for sophomores and juniors to become interns at IBM. Our local contact is Lee Scott Theisen (theisenl@fiu.edu). Naturally, they are looking for the best of the best from computer science at the sophomore or junior level (preferably) with a high gpa and if possible with internship experience and with good programming skills. You should also be able to walk on water. The internship is at Lotus in Cambridge Mass. June and July in Cambridge is much nicer than Miami. (This is basically Boston, which is a fabulous city.) The intern or interns will be housed in dorms; room and board are provided as well as transportation. There they will be assigned specific programs, and be working with leading edge internet programs. Executive speakers come each week and mentors are assigned to them. At the end they get to present their work to the head of the internet program. The program will be eight weeks in June and July, but the exact dates are not yet set. IBM would like as many as a dozen applicants(even a few more if they are very good). They want resumes as soon as possible. They will be here on campus to interview the applicants at the end of January, probably the 25 or 26th. The interview process will close the loop and they will select after that process. Further information about the program can be found at http://extremeblue.adtech.internet.ibm.com
